Everyone has heard the saying “good things come to those who wait”. It’s one of those lines that people use to explain (usually to children!) that patience is a virtue; that, even though good things are not always instantaneous, they will come... eventually.
On one hand, this is a great lesson. Patience is a virtue and the ability to wait is definitely a worthwhile quality to have. But on the other hand, the idea that things will just come to those who are patient? Perhaps not such a good lesson...
This is something that has become particularly clear to me since starting my business. It is impossible to achieve anything if you just sit and wait for it to happen! You have to put the wheels in motion and then you have to continue to push forward towards your goals. Achievement, of any kind, takes hard work and dedication. It takes effort and passion, and a great amount of self-belief. Go out and fight for what you want to achieve. Work for it. Believe in it. Wish for it, even. But don’t just wait for it to come to you.
Anything worth achieving is worth the hard work - never give up!
